Call-out for Marketing & Fundraising Volunteers for YTR’s summer production His Last Report

Applications are now open to play a part in the marketing and fundraising of York Theatre Royal’s world premiere of a brand-new play His Last Report, which focuses on the life and legacy of one of York’s most influential figures: Seebohm Rowntree. This powerful play tells a local story through the voices of York’s residents, both past and present.

Join the in-house marketing team in promoting the production through various marketing channels or delve into all things fundraising and support the YTR Development team in raising funds and support for this exciting community project.

Applications are welcomed from people of all experience levels – with opportunities to get involved within all areas of marketing and fundraising. If you have an interest in copywriting, social media, PR, marketing or fundraising, this is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience within a bustling, supportive team.

Volunteering for the group is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people and play a role in bringing a huge piece of community theatre to life on the stage. Find out more about the roles and how to apply below.

Marketing Volunteer – His Last Report

To support the in-house YTR Marketing and Communications team in all aspects of marketing with the aim of promoting ticket sales for His Last Report and capturing behind-the-scenes content.

Tasks will vary depending on skills and interests but can include:

Creating content for social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok)

Working with the volunteer photography team to curate a bank of imagery for the project and sharing with volunteers via the group Facebook group.

Supporting with creation of content for the His Last Report programme.

Capturing backstage content to document the process of making a community production – including Q&As with volunteers, short video clips at rehearsals, behind the scenes content from our costume/prop-making groups, etc.

Copywriting for the YTR blog – researching and drafting a series of articles focusing on the history, volunteers, costume-making, creatives, etc.

Collating press coverage for His Last Report and helping to put together a press pack at the end of the project.

Supporting with distribution of marketing collateral across the city.

Fundraising Volunteer – His Last Report

To support the in-house YTR Development team in all aspects of fundraising for His Last Report and helping to raise vital funds for the community production.

Tasks will vary depending on skills and interests but can include:

Support fundraising activities surrounding His last Report, including Dragon Boat Challenge, raffles etc.

Supporting admin surrounding fundraising activities.

Visiting rehearsals to talk about fundraising, selling raffle tickets etc.

Supporting bucket collections for performances.

Deadline for applications for both opportunities is the 9th March. An introductory meeting with the Marketing and Development teams will be held on 18th March 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Please note we can only accept applications from those aged 18+.
