Following the success of York Theatre Royal’s ‘Dinners on Stage’ fundraiser last year, plans are now underway for another very special event featuring legends from the world of dance.
Raising vital funds to support York Theatre Royal’s community engagement work, this February there will be two unforgettable evenings of dinner and entertainment on the iconic York Theatre Royal stage.
On Tue 04 Feb, special guests will include ballet legend Carlos AcostaCBE (Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet) and award-winning choreographer Ben Duke (Artistic Director and co-founder of Lost Dog). On Wed 05 Feb, renowned choreographer and director Christopher Marney, (Artistic Director of London City Ballet) will also be joining guests on stage for this fabulous black-tie occasion.
Vicky Biles, Director of Communications and Development said, “Dance is such an important part of our programme and we are delighted to welcome special guests who have contributed so much to that world to join us on these two unique evenings.
This is a very special opportunity to support your local theatre whilst also enjoying a memorable night of delicious food and entertainment. As a charity, we rely on fundraising initiatives like this to enable us to continue to do work in the local community and to put on a diverse programme of events for all to enjoy.“
Co-ordinated with the support of LW Events, guests will be welcomed to the theatre with a glass of champagne and a delicious three course menu prepared and served by local caterers Pastelle Kitchen & Events with a range of specially selected wines.
Attendees can also look forward to a unique programme of entertainment throughout the evening and a raffle and auction which will help raise further funds in support of York Theatre Royal.
York Theatre Royal works extensively in the community, through a range of year-round projects for young people including Youth Theatre and Access All Areas, working with schools, and its partnerships with other charities through the Pay It Forward ticket scheme. The theatre is nationally recognised for its engagement and participation programmes, the large-scale community productions it produces every two years (including His Last Report which is set for this summer), and its commitment to widening access to theatre to everyone.
